If GF did this last gen, I don't see why they can't add a few more obvious options (like Rapidash, or more water-types when surfing).

They already did this in ORAS. Sharpedo, Kyogre, and Wailmer all have unique models. Sharpedo and Kyogre move faster, too. Lapras also has a unique model in XY and ORAS.
