I kinda feel the same way. As it stand, Hoenn will have more of a tropical feel than the region based off Hawaii. Then again, the japanese region Hoenn is based off might itself be the more tropical, so maybe it makes sense.

I think ORAS is fine and pretty much has the same feel as RSE when it comes to tropical feels for me. But Hoenn is kinda my favorite region, so there might be some pretty thick bias and nostalgia goggles at work here.
