Why is Milotic such an all-around awesome creature?
It's the beauty of a mermaid and the mystery of a sea serpent/lake monster combined into one gorgeous creature. Also, pink and blue are my favorite colors, so that helps. Favorite Pokemon by far.
I appreciate the moral lesson that is taught through Milotic and Feebas.
In order to get one, you have to raise the ugly Feebas. But although Feebas is described as being a very adaptable, hardy pokémon, it is also ridiculed and ignored for its appearance. Most people would throw it away in an instant, despite the value it has. These people are shallow.
In other words, the only people who deserve to have something as beautiful as Milotic, are those who understand that beauty is only skin-deep.

At first seeing it, I thought it was alright for sure.
Then I fought one on the route past the flying type gym and got my shit kicked in by it. Now I respect it and always try to get one on my teamu whenever I can.
I forgot Milotic existed.
The bullshit conditions to catch a Feebas and the bullshit way you need to evolve it, both those things changing constantly in every gen, made me erase it from memory due to sheer will of not wanting to deal with all that bullshit. Just for some pure Water type.
Milotic is my favorite pokemon. I wish she was water/fairy
