OP here. What exactly is it that makes Rosa preferable May or Dawn? Rosa just looks like a little girl, even though I'm pretty sure she's supposed to be older than most of the protagonists.
ORAS is actually my favorite game, because I can finally have a good Mawile and even better Sableye, the Phys/Spe split, and DexNav/soaring/amie are the 3 things that I always wanted in a game.

I really don't see the point of wanting a challenging single player experience when the point of the game is to battle other players. That said, I think most postgame facilities are rather adequate at pushing the player but most choose to waste their time bitching about how it's not reaming their pooper like it did when they were 6 and had no idea of Type relations. You can only play Pokemon for the first time once.

my unpopular opinion is that gen V never needed to be
even the games I enjoyed the least still contributed many important factors to these series. pick a gen you don't like, you can probably find something in the battle system, items, pokemon, maybe technical tweaks that really came out worth it in the end. but to me, it was a giant fight with gen 3 for the most forgettable and lackluster pokemon designs, introducing nothing but bores to the metagame, pretty much zero battle mechanics and hardly any technical improvements, filled with characters I can't even remember the names of because of how forgettable the entire experience was. The only good thing to come out of it was a plot that actually went somewhere, which had been missing since gen 2, and the streamlining of notifications for ability-influenced battle changes which would have happened eventually either way. I feel about the sequel exactly the same as I feel about Final Fantasy 13 having a sequel

Ghost, Grass and Bug could always use more if not good representatives and Gen V scratches that itch well.

I really loved X and Y.
They were the first real 3D Pokemon games, they gave us Mega Evolutions, Fairy type, character customization, Super Training made the game so much more accessable, by far the biggest in-game dex, some great music, and the Kalos region was beautiful.
Yeah, the story/characters were mediocre and there wasn't enough post-game content. But X and Y did so much right, they're far from the weakest Pokemon games.
I honestly believe in the " Strong Pokémon. Weak Pokémon. That is only the selfish perception of people. Truly skilled Trainers should try to win with the Pokémon they love best." mindset.
Anyone who uses pokemon they don't love for the sake of better 'strategy' is cancer (here's looking at you smogon)

Edgy fangames are more fun and interesting than the ones that play it safe and try to be like an official game. Yeah the dialogue might be cringeworthy, but it's a reprieve from "You're a 10 year old kid on a cheery adventure filled with fun and mystery".
I'm tired of the "get 8 badges and beat the evil team + E4" formula. I want another story focused game like Colosseum or Gale of Darkness.
I have no problem with hacks that change a pokemon's stats, moveset, or type as long as there's a log on what's been altered.
All of Hoenn's music was dull and lifeless and to this day I still don't understand how anyone likes the champion theme at all. It's just a sped up and slightly altered version of the regular battle theme.

GF is working hard to make sure they can effectively market Pokemon to a wide range of demographics. So they have a lot of cute, useless trash, but they also have a genuine metagame and they worked hard to build and streamline the system for effective competitive battling. Fairy would not have existed if it were not for the fact that GF is constantly looking at tournament play, and don't be surprised if it gets nerfed in gen 7.

The Gen 7 starters all suck equally and don't feel like a proper "trio." I immediately loved all the Gen 6 starters, but all I feel for these is apathy.
