Guide was helpful when I was a kid because sometimes it would show you where more rare pokemon or items to evolve pokemon are. It also had a type chart and told you what all the natures are. I wouldn't buy one now but as a kid before I really knew how to use the internet it was helpful

I had no idea where Regirock and Regice where, but I knew where Registeel lived because of NPCs + its place was not hidden at all. And the Braille puzzles were easy to figure out because first thing I always did was read the manual when I was younger, and I kept looking for a reason why there was this braille thing at the end of the manual.
