That's the thing though, both parents were Greninjas (the father being Japanese) with 5 perfect IVs, and both had Protean.
The RNG must've felt sorry for me, because after 48 eggs into trying to make a stronger regular Gible I got this little fella. Adamant, Outstanding, and 4 perfect IVs in everything I could ever need.

I recently picked up an SP, and i want to shiny hunt on Emerald. I'm aware the RNG is busted in this game and you can RNG abuse, but I need a shiny to actually do that, so I can find the Secret ID. I have no way of getting a shiny on this game outside the old fashioned way. Okay, so, I have the Shiny Charm in both X\Y and ORAS. Trying damn hard to get a shiny Luxio off of Route 118, but got nothing so far from the Poké Nav.
So a few questions to 4channers, since people only "suppose" this is true on google...
Does having a high DexNav chain increase the odds of shiny pokémon in the wild? And if so, are they any better than the Masuda Method?

Hordes/Friend Safari are what you do to get a shiny fast. Dexnav is what you do to get a moderate shiny in a moderate time. Masuda Method is what you do to get a very good shiny after a long time.

from my understanding, the DexNav has a straight 1/512 chance of getting a shiny in any encounter like the friend safari. The only thing that changes with a high Dex Nav is the IV's, egg moves, Ability, etc. are usually better.
Masuda method nets you a shiny at the same 1/512 rate with the shiny charm but gives you a bit more control over the shiny (egg moves, more stable IV's, natures, abilities that aren't Dex Navable, etc.)
You can probably encounter pokemon faster than you can hatch them, but hatching them is a bit more autopilot and doesn't require you to make sure each mon isn't shiny before you run, also you don't have to worry about catching them, or syncing them to the right nature, etc.
chain fishing and hordes are your go to if you just want a shiny fast, but that limits it to what can be caught fishing/in a horde.
Shinx isn't found in hordes though, so it'll be up to you whether you want to Dex Nav or Masuda to find it.

Going back to Ghost/Water/Steel, I run Lanturn with Steelix as a Lead, Gengar/Mismagius as a Sub Special attacker, a Fairy type like Sylveon for CM set-up, a Dragon type like Salamence for wall-breaking (always physical, but has DM), and something Dark like Weavile for priority, or Mega Absol for the same. Iam retired butbattled defensively and memorized type match-up and movepools. I have a lot of Pokemon I can use for teams so I can always re-arrange and strategize accordingly.

I don't find battling as enjoyable as it use to be, but I guess it's because I miss Gen 4's play-style. UU was my shit and I was a big fan of UUTtitan, so I had teams utilizing Trick Room and Hail/Sandstorm while still being in UU.
Sableye can be an annoying fucker with/without its Mega, and that's how I beat my friend when we were doing Dark Monos together. Good times. Weavile is just one of those late-game sweepers; otherwise, plan according in the situation that you're in if you really need a revenge-killer.

I usually hatch them as I get them from the daycare. Have a Pokemon with flame body or.... Magma armor, i think? Theres another ability, look it up. They halve the time it takes to hatch an egg if they're in your party. Just take those eggs and ride back n forth past the daycare. It'll start out way too slow but eventually you'll have threeish eggs at a time. I guess having a steady stream is also kinda based on luck, but at least this way you don't grind any longer than you have to.

Why on Altering Cave? That's like the most boring place to go, assuming you only have Zubats in it.
It's not like there are places with higher odds anyway so just go wherever.
Pro-tip: keep your game on for as long as you possibly can so the seed doesn't keep repeating each time you boot it up.
I kept mine on for several daysby using save states on an emulatorjust so it felt truly random despite Emerald's funky RNG.

On 3rd gen a lvl. 16 (the max on Altering Cave) Zubat has 80 PP.

If you only have emerald then your only option is either Grovyle(Lv53), Sceptile(Lv59) or Nincada(Lv25). If You didn't pick Treecko as your starter then your only option is Nincada. Nincada can teach Paras, Pinsir, and Heracross False Swipe through breeding. Paras is only in FRLG.
Mawile can only learn False Swipe from breeding with Zangoose or Farfetch. Zangoose is only in Ruby and Farfetch is only in FRLG. Sableye doesn't learn False Swipe.

While SR'ing for shiny legendaries, four type of Pokémon are essential to bring. Synchronize lead, high level False Swiper, fast Spore user and fast Heal Pulser in case things go really bad. If your target is Grass type then bring a paralyzer.
