This can be said for Gen 2 as well. Echidna's, crocodiles, and Brachiosaurs all lay eggs.

Zard is clearly based off a Dragon, and Cyndaquil is the Fire Mouse Pokemon, closer to a Rat than even Fennekin is to a Dog.
There's nothing that can be said to disprove it. We've got 7 gens in the book for the theory.
Unless you want to wait til Gen 8, when we get a Rabbit, Ox, Snake, or Horse. But then the theory is still bust, right? :^)

You don't, though. You have 6. Litten isn't a tiger yet, and no amount of memery will make it into one until further starters get revealed.
Furthermore, regular cats are specifically not part of the zodiac. And 'tiger' is pretty specific. If it's anything -other- than a tiger, you lose.

All grass types WERE dinosaurs/ancient animals, but i guess they pissed that away.

this is what I figured, I guess we'll have to see Rowlet's final form, it might be based off of something ancient...
As for water starters their theme is that they don't have a "special theme." They're just modern animals that can survive on land as well as in water. So grass is historical, fire is mythical, and water is present-day.
