I know this thread is satire, but look at any fakemon thread, or any "fix a pokemon's design" thread.
If it isn't cute, then it's overdesigned. If it doesn't look like an animal, then it's a Digimon/Yokai. If it doesn't have realistic fur detail, then it's cartoony. The majority of /vp/ has no idea what they're talking about and they wouldn't know a good design apart from a bad one unless it was drawn by Sugimori with watercolors.
