As long as you aren't stupid, it shouldn't happen. Just be careful that, once you backup your NAND firmware onto the SD, you only update the SD firmware.

It must be really hard to fuck your ds by downgrading. What about injection part? Does that have potential to brick your ds? A link for simple steps to downgrading and injecting would be appreciated.

No, if you aren't completely retarded. I've downgraded two 3DS' up to now and had zero problems. Just follow the guide perfectly and you'll be fine.
