I really wanna see Grass/Flying Water/fighting and Fire/Dark or Ghost. Rowlett will just be a bigger grassy owl, Litten will probably be a tiger familiar and I wanna see popplio become a strong man. That's just me though.

This is shit reasoning; they only match up in terms of general shape and pose. They were definitely drawn from scratch.
Of course, the lines are messy and uneven, and there's numerous mistakes like one of the cat's ears being largwer than the other, so that should be what tips you off instead.

I reason I could really see the pirate thing happening for Litten is that in real life, cats are the most dangerous invasive species on tropical islands. They quickly become apex predators and kill off countless species.
