XY is at over 15 million and ORAS is at over 11 million
What's there to fix? Pokemon sells extremely well for a 20 year old franchise.
The games will never reach pokemania levels again

This Chart is Wrong

Pokemania had very little to do with the quality of the games themselves. Nothing that popular ever does. It was a fad. A huge fucking fad yes, but still a fad. Pokemon happened to come out at the right time with the right gameplay and mechanics to ignite something in the consumer base. Now that it's established, it'll probably never reach that level again simply for the sheer weight of its history. It exists as a thing now in the cultural memory, and it will always have that baggage even if they were to entirely reinvent it.
That it's still as popular and sells as well as it does it almost mind boggling. How many games, how many series, get to have both absurd popularity at its release and staying power?
