litten will get the most attention, rowlet is the most popular now but it's evos will surely be less appealing to the mass market.
owls are generally wise, sagely, and regal. none of that plays well with the core advertising target group.
pretty sure sceptile is the gen2 favorite btw. gen 5 didn't really have a clear fave, although samurott line probably got the most attention overall.

Neither one got significantly more exposure than their counterparts, though. Hell, for Gen V you have at least as much of an argument for Emboar being the favorite since it was the only one to get a secondary type and its own signature move.
