Anon, the entire point is that them obviously pushing the character customization means this is the first gen there's no real need for the anime to replace the female character, since the character people play as won't look like the anime one anyway, in addition to the fact that Serena has been redesigned to no longer look like any possible character from X/Y long ago. That's why people are discussing the potential of her staying.
And no, no matter what shitposters are spamming all day, nobody is insisting she's obviously staying. It's discussed as a possibility, and there's actual marketing logic to it. That's all.

Usually more shitposting occurs in hype episodes meaning they were good. In this case, he's shitposting against something that actually points to Serena staying. The more shitposting against it occurs, the more valid it is.
Serena/Ash’s relationship is… Pretty weak for me. So it would be nice to have a girl who’s focused on her goal more then anything else, have her interactions with Ash and other make companions be nice and natural (because I don’t think Serena has any significant guy relationships that aren’t Ash). I’m shipping trash as much as anyone else but it’d be best if the romantic connotations were only left for the fans to decide and not the writers.
