Why are people surprised Popplio is liked? He himself is nice and plain like /vp/ has been demanding from Pokemon forever. And I can't wait to see what they do with the circus theme in his later forms.
Litten still king though. Popplio is a gimmick, Litten is a god.
I still think most people are just very fearful of another Oshawott. If Oshawott never happened Popplio would be much more well received. Still, I find it interesting that almost everyone here is warming up to the starters. Myself included, I never disliked Popplio but it seems like every time I see him I just love him more. I'm surprised to say it now but I think he's my favorite, despite his whole theme feeling redundant

Litten looks fine and it's oil fur is a cool concept. Rowlet just looks like a round bird. Just like Natu and HootHoot, a other owl. Real original. Such an imaginative pokemon.
