So with trainers being visible in SM it looks like fusions might be a thing.

So how do you think it would work /vp/ ? Would you need some kind of item like mega stones or it would have to do something with your pokemon's happieness level?

Would it just give your pokemon stats or new ability or put some new mechanic in battle like qte?

A new mechanic that allows mega-evolution if you have maxed out happiness. Some Pokemon can only mega with friendship, some can only mega with stones, some can do both.
