Who else tired of "random encounters" in the grass / caves / water?
I want to see the Pokemon roaming free / jumping out of the water / etc.
Imagine trying to catch Ghost Pokemon, you go into the haunted place and the fuckers move chairs and tables
It would make capturing Pokemon much more unique than just walking back and forth and getting a random encounter
Well that's what they did with spirtomb and rotom. Technically it's the tall grass that's just boring. Nothing new except for the addition of pokemon being able to be seen and having to creep towards them.>>26262906

There was a ps1 game called gaudian's crusade or something like that. It had random encounters, but you could see them on the map.
Enemies would appear as little pink tadpole ghosts. Low level enemies would be tiny, look wimpy and run away from you slowly. Close to same level enemies would be "average" tadpole ghosts and run into you, but you could easily outrun them, as long as there weren't a bunch in a small area.
High level enemies would be big Monstrous ghosts that would chase you for quite a while.
Pokemon with Xenoblade-type overworld when?

Random encounters are the most fucking vestigial game mechanic out there.
>80s, early 90s
>How do we make it feel like there are enemies in the area you're in?
>Just make random monsters from a list appear in each area.
>Okay that'll do until we have enough power to make sometime good
