Watched Kanto, Orange Islands and Johto when i was 6. Those are god tier to me, nostalgia 100%.
After those i stopped watching Pokemon all the time and just watched a few episodes of Hoenn. I didn't liked it but it still has some nostalgia to me.
The same happened with DP except that i got incredible hype for it because i discovered the games. Overall i consider SInnoh to be technically the best season of Pokemon better than Hoenn but maybe lower than Kanto and Jotho because Nostalgia.
I watched 20 episodes of Unova and dropped it.
Came back to XY because of Serena and the good animation but dropped it in episode 13 cause it was getting boring and generic.

I don't think I will be much disappointed if they ditch Serena, I mean they ditched every girl before her so it's to be expected, but they've been going so far with the teasing that not addressing it properly before the series' end would be very disappointing to me. Watched OS, quit a few episodes after AG started because CN wouldn't stop repeating the same episodes while new ones would never come out. I decided to rewatch all of it from the start probably next to first episode of BW, finally got to latest episode back then though I don't recall which one, and then stopped watching as soon as BW ended. Got back to the anime around XY7 when I decided to lurk around anime hype threads here and been watching ever since, though at times I would take some small breaks.

That depends. As I see it, XY isn't simlpy building Ash to become the strongest yet; they are giving a rather unique feeling to XY Ash. I'm nost just talking about some 10/10 qt girl lusting after his gains, but the fact they're playing the "you've part of a prophecy" card, featuring new formes and plot around a legendary Pokémon AND giving to one of his mons a new forme, which was not revealed nor known by no other media. At all. Even to this day, the games never mentioned them, the manga never mentioned them, those things are something completely anime exclusive as of now. I would stop watching if all that was for nothing.
