Gen 1 starters are literal perfection, and I am as far away from a genwunner as you can get. Simply put, there's a reason they're iconic.
Gen 6, by far the most impactful and throughly clever designs since Gen 1, without a doubt.
Gen 3 starters, what can I say. They're probably the second most recognizable set of all of them, and deservedly so because all three of the designs are solid as fuck, although I personally dislike Mudkip too much relative to the other two.
Gen 7 starters have shaped up to be pretty nice so far. I especially like Poplio, fuck what everyone else says.
Gen 2 starters would be humbly put in second place if it were not for fucking Chikorita. Fuck that bitch.
Gen 4 actually had pretty fucking stellar designs for the starters at the time, but in the end they were pretty much the first set which went overboard design-wise.
Gen 5 starters are so forgettable I struggled even to remember which number I forgot to add to the end of the list.
