You can bring it in on pokemon like Bisharp and Weavile which it hard counters, and then flare blitz anything that tries to wall it. It can 2hko a lot of pokemon that resist flare blitz. Only bulky water types, and like Lando can switch into it. It will ohko so many non resisted pokemon.
Team it up with a pokemon that has TWave. Maybe a healing wisher like Jirachi. Its just really fun to use because it forces switches, annd bonks hard.

Honestly the Gen V starter designs were the only ones I didn't have a single problem with after taking their evolutions into consideration. For every other Gen there was at least one starter I just couldn't mesh with at all.
