yeah there was a guy in the very early stages of that wave of japanophilia in england who made his own fighting style by adapting karate and judo techniques into the urban london setting. He basically jumpstarted the whole self defense craze in the west. Only issue was in the wake of his success others started their own gyms and studios and eventually the big draw came from places that actually paid to sail over and house japanese teachers. His style fell by the wayside and he eventually died penniless. A good chunk of his notes were found several years back and some turbo nerds have taken to reconstructing his style. He called it "bartitsu" after himself, Barton-Wright, and it's since been attributed to Sherlock Holmes on account of the mention Doyle makes of "baritsu, or the Japanese system of wrestling," in The Final Problem which had until Bartitsu's rediscovery made no sense since it wasn't remotely close to any known style of martial arts.

Anyway. Street fighter has a character based on this wrestling and as gay as it might sound, I think the use of oil could have interesting playstyle/moveset of a pokemon based on it. It could have redirection, evasion-based play, or a fighting type version of "Powder".
