How would you feel about a gen that let's you choose out of all the starters we already have

If it's a Generation setter game, then I would be disappointed. There should be new starters with every new gen. If there are new starters available, then I feel as though the option to choose old starters would dilute hype for the new starters, for very little net gain.
If it's not a game that includes new Pokemon, then I don't see why not.
The extra set of starters a short way into the game is as close as we should get to this in a main series game. Aside from postgame gifts of course.

As long as they don't use it to replace an actual set of starters. Like say, if instead of picking between just the kanto starters in SM we could pick 1 of any of the previous ones, I'd be cool with that.
