Also, serious talk, Pokespe has better human characters but the Pokémon are almost entirely devoid of personality compared to the anime. And the battles rely too much on keikakus and turnabouts most of the time. Sometime I just want to see strong mons exchanging blows without excessive out-of-the-box strategies and I feel the anime strikes a better balance.
That said, they have different strenghts so I don't think they really compete.

All these interactions make the cast more lively and you don't really see them in Pokespe.

I've been thinking about this a lot and Pokemon Special is definitely better than the Anime. Sometimes.
I mean in general, you could probably argue PokeSpe overall is better, but for example, things like the Yellow Arc or Emerald arc can't compare to things like XY&Z and the better parts of the DP anime.
Basically, the anime has a lot more crap then PokeSpe, but I think the anime at it's best is better than PokeSpe at it's best. But at the same time, the anime at it's worst is far worse then PokeSpe at it's worst. For everything wrong with Yellow arc, it was still leagues better then Best Wishes.
