No. I much prefer to have all the cries blend in and sound modern, than listen to a sound file that was clearly produced on an older console. The 8 bit/GBA ones just stand out and it's kind of unpleasant.

With the beginning of a "new generation" they might have looked at the Gen I Poké's primitive bit sounds and thought they might update them to make them sound more in par with the upcoming Gen VI cries. No they don't. They literally say their whole name and the low effort doesn't make it better either. You will never hear greninja say "gekkouga' but only "kooga" "kooo" etc whixh actually sounds like a cry. In the dub it always says "greninja". This applies to almost every pokemon in the dub. There're hundred of examples like these. Aside from pikachu the pokemon never say their whole name in the japanese dub. They do this with literally every pokemon in the english dub.
At least each Gen I pokemon has its own cry now, instead of recycling the same 40 cries.
