I run Windows almost all the time and it never occurs. The few times I run Mac for the exclusive software, it breaks frequently (although not frequently to the point of being unusable). I'm fairly certain that's an OS problem.

I fail to see a problem. Did it take up your entire screen? Hover your mouse at the top border and the bar with a button that lets you make it windowed should appear.
