Ash vs Paul: Ash win (now they battle as the finale).
Ash can battle Cynthia: Cynthia win because Most of Ash pokémon were exhausted by his previous match. That's only a friendly battle as Ash is anyway the winner. All of his old friends watch him on TV.
Ash returns to Kanto with Brock and the Cup, taking leave from Dawn who will leave to Johto with Kenny.
Ash and Brock go to visit Misty for talk to her, there they find Tracey and they start talking about they old journeys the used to do. They take leave to each other, Ash's archivement motivetes Misty and she decides now she will be a good gym leader. Brock go back to Pewter and start studying to became a top notch doctor.
Ash go back to Pallet town, greet his mom and immediately go at Oak's lab then, there he find Gary, who is now a succesful researcher. Ash is proud for being a league champion, but talking with gary makes him realise he has much more to learn.
He decides to leave again for expand his knowledge, even if he isn't intent to partecipate to a new league.
Ash and Gary and Pikachu leave Pallet at the sunset.
