It'll never be what some people hoped it might but, but I think it still has some potential for a few that go against the grain a bit. Combining it as a secondary typing with Poison, Dark, or Ghost (the typical "Heel" types) could result in Pokemon that subvert expectations in the same way that Absol subverts the idea that Dark-types need to be evil, cruel, or opportunistic. I imagine it would still use a more pastel color scheme though, to match up with the rest.

I'll preface this all by saying I'm gay and have never had a waifu/husbands thing. I think most Fairy types are cute, and I'm glad there's a type that consists mostly of cute mons that are often pink [one of my two favorite colors (along with purple)]. There are already types that consist mostly of hyper-masculine Pokemon (Fighting, Dragon, and to some extent Dark and Steel). Why can't there be just one that consists primarily of cute mons, too? Do you really need every single type to conform to your ideal of what Pokemon should look like? There aren't that many Fairy types right now really, and the more they introduce, the more non-cute ones will exist that fit your opinion of what Fairy should be, just like how there are now some cute mons in the masculine types I listed.
