Togekiss was my best bro in Diamond. He annihilated fucking everything with Aura Sphere/Air Slash/Shadow Ball. Fucking amazing coverage and damage.
The Togepi egg you receive from Shirona/Cynthia is a great example of a missed opportunity in Pokemon games.
Inside the individual pokemon's pkmn file, I always wished there would have been a data field for who gives you an egg. Gen 4 and 5 (maybe 3?) would use the following fields:
> Location: Day Care Couple
> Encounter: Egg/Pal Park/Event/ Honey Tree... group listing
> As Egg: Y/N
Hatch Conditions:
> Game:
> Location hatched
> Date hatched.
What would have been clever would have been a field for

The obvious would be Day Care Couple. But for those few occurrences where you receive pokemon from NPCs, how clever it would have been for that data to remain. In future games, such as Black2/White2, if you visited that same NPC in the world or in the championships, a if/then check could generate a unique response.
Example, meeting Cynthia at Undella Town. A check of your party's team for any Gen4 pokemon from her. If her gifted Togepi is detected, the game could generate the response,
"That [Pokemon species].. why does it look familiar? It resembles the one I gave [OT name]... Were you two friends? I hope [OT gender he/she] is doing well!"
Would have been nice. Same with doing something with HGSS's shiny leaf data that was deleted going into Gen6.
