The "camera flash" is meaningless and also an obvious bullshit fake, since the "Paper BG" layer has the same lighting on the top as the original (minus the removed bits). It's a bullshit fake. The least this denialfag could've done was lower the brightness at the top right to make his "camera flash" effect more believable.

GIMP uses extremely low res images for the layer thumbnails, it's not uncommon for small stuff like that to get lost. Not saying that's what happened. OP could easily be lying, but you haven't debunked anything other than your own intelligence

Anon, don't be stupid. He was talking about how some shadow areas are nowhere in the miniatures, but show up in the final. No blending mode could create stuff out of nothing.
One other detail: the shadows/highlights in this drawing are not so bland to be Just one "shading" layer. And yes, I know there are many blending states to use with that black only layer, but the final result would be totally different. There is enough color variance in the final result to prove that the artist made a palette for the shadows (like even the dumbest DAs would do).
That said, I don't get what is the point of this picture. Right now, unless corocoro leaks with the starters, nobody is going to change their minds about the owl being real or fake.

This. And even these 3 Pokemon ARE the actual starters, their evolutions will be much better, if you don't like their first forms. I don't get why people get so pissed off at them and fail to consider this...
Fire starter is like the ugly duckling of the group that would evolve into something great that most of us wouldn't expect I think. Owl is just generic, but it will evolve into something better I'm sure. Blue one will evolve into this cool dolphin/seal thing. I don't see why people hate them so much, they have so much potential to evolve into much better things.

I personally can't really imagine what the owl would evolve into. It doesn't have anything unique going on in the first stage besides the leaf wings and the barn owl face. Hopefully if it's real, it doesn't turn into something generic.

To be fair none of the starters with a gimmick in the final form had their gimmick apparent in the first one. Blastoise didn't have mini cannons as Squirtle, the region each of the Unova starters was based on was not apparent (and it's still pretty low key imo) you couldn't tell Fennekin was going to be a wizard or Froakie a ninja, etc. It may develop a visual gimmick eventual. I'd argue that it kind of has to and Pokemon is getting better about that since it wants to make each Pokemon distinct as they keep coming back to basic kinds of animals. But the pool of owl pokemon is so shallow who knows. You could still end up with with something like Blaziken who is a pretty interesting interpretation of a chicken.
