Swalot is one of my top ten favorite Pokemon along with a bunch of other weirdos that nobody likes like Ambipom or Magcargo.
Some pokemon, like Gengar or Garchomp, you like them because they're cool. But others you like because they're almost the exact opposite of cool. Swalot, Slowbro, and Dunsparce all fit into this category.

Dunno why, I thought he was cool and he learned a bunch of practical fighting moves so I kept around for the whole game as a party member and had him rocking four fighting type moves like I was 5 years old.

I actually really like Chatot, Boomburst was a gift and Chatter being confuse ray with sick damage, STAB and has the honour of being one of only two true signature moves, it just fantastic.
The metronome tail was a great design feature.
