That's not even remotely equivalent. It's (Psy)chic Duck in English and Ko (child) Duck in Japanese. Its title is literally the "Duck Pokemon".

The whole point of the Platypus is that it looks like a weird chimera of at least three different animals. Psyduck just looks like a pudgy cartoon duck.

It really depends on what you think is the most important part to you. If it's the name and classification, then Krookodile is a crocodile; if it's the animal it most closely resembles, then Krookodile is a gharial. It's really up to you what you consider it. This is literally the crux of the zodiac disagreement, too: Cyndaquil's name and design references porcupines, but its classification references rodents. People put the importance on different things, which is why the argument is so ridiculous. It's up to you--do you want to see it as a croc, a gharial, or some mixture of many sources?

It's more of a Vampire Squid (which is known for being able to reverse its body and disorienting lights). Its arms turning into a raised collar look when it evolves into Malamar could even be attempting to evoke a classical vampire (who are also popularly known for being able to hypnotize).

Aside from the evolutioon mimic it's not very similar to a vapire squid. It lacks the spines on the tentacles, the two fins and the webbing which are all traits to look for on vampire squids. On the other hand it has two significantly longer tentacles as well as the mantly being pointy and much more similar to common squids.

Tanuki is the Japanese name for raccoon dogs. They are real animals, they just have a lot of magical properties in Japanese mythology. Zigzagoon looks like a raccoon dog and its category in Japanese is "tiny raccoon dog pokemon".

Neck: no idea
Sail "muscles": One common hypothesis is that the sail was not thin like a Dimetrodons, but rather thick and fatty, more like a buffalo's back (pic related)
Mouth: It really was shaped weird with kind of a hook in the front, probably for grabbing fish better
Spines/feathers: purely speculative, but worth noting that it's likely that most dinosaurs had at least a small amount of feathers

>Mouth: It really was shaped weird with kind of a hook in the front, probably for grabbing fish better
It's mostly how the artist decided to make none of the teeth visible. Especially with that large flap covering the front of the "beak" where it has giant protruding teeth both in the upper and lower jaw.

Heatmor's species is obviously a reference to the actual suborder of animals commonly known as anteaters.Being a bit generic, most similar to a tamandua but could be the giant anteater too, Heatmor is not a silky anteater that's for sure.

The design would be dirt ass simple. Just combine the concepts of that one picture of a kiwi bird with the cross section of a kiwi fruit, with that creepy Doduo/Voltorb fusion drawing that's just a furry ball with a face. Give it little webbed feet that are just leaves, and have it evolve into that grass/flying hummingbird thing. Boom.
