Platinum. I just got finished beating the Elite Four and Cynthia. Have to say, this was super fun, never played Platinum before. Starting off the game with 6 Pokemon makes the game super difficult and fun. I lost to Cynthia like 2 or three times because Lucario could one shot almost my whole team, and was about to just accept maybe I have to lose to her here and get some better items, then I came up with a plan for Feraligatr to sweep her. Was really fun.

What? Having less than 6 Pokemon makes the game much easier, since your experience points don't get spread out as much and your Pokemon end up on higher levels. You can easily steamroll the game playing with just 1 Pokemon.

It gimps EXP gain if your Pokémon are a higher level than the opponent, and gives a bonus if your Pokémon are lower level than the opponents.
It basically prevents you from going through with one or two Pokémon.

Nah it's still easier to go through with just one or two pokémon. The turning point compared to the other generations' flat exp gain isn't when you and your opponent are at the same level, but significantly higher.
The idea was alright, but it makes leveling easier both for a one-two man team as well as a full team. The only time it fucks you over is if you're like 20-30 levels higher than your opponent.
