What pokémons have good stats/stat distribution but got screwed by movepool, typing or an ability?

Pic related.

It's great in Doubles if you can Skill Swap the Slow Start away.
>>
>>26110657
That's not how slow start works anon

The fuck you saying?

Yeah, it is actually.
My general strategy is to have a Pokemon skill swap/worryseed it away and punch everything to death

It doesn't need it.

Aurorus lacks speed and some spatk otherwise it would be a great wallbreaker despite the typing

A few grass Pokemon.

A lot of ice Pokemon.
>ability
Slaking, Regigigas, Darmanitan [Zen], Archeops.
>all of the above
Meganium.

Funny thing is, not even ruined by lack of movepool because stats and god-tier ability.
>>
>>26113743
More like it can't make great use of it. 50/76/70 in offensive stat are pretty shitty. Noctowl's problem is mostly it's crummy stats.
>>
>>26113839
Excuse me, but in what world is contrary + leaf storm not fucking god tier?!
>>
>>26115011
A world where Talonflame exists. Eats a leaf storm at +0 on a switch in, then shreks with BIRB

>>26113817

But it needs better coverage options besides Wild Charge and Return. EQ and a Rock move would be perfect and fitting.
>>
>>26115489
ah yes, the great shift gear/gear grind/wild charge/return
>>
>>26110611
>>26110570
Could you fix these guys temporarily by giving them Mummy in battle?
>>
>>26117286
No.
>>
>>26115489
It literally only has Shift Gear, Gear Grind, Wild Charge, and Return/Sub. That's it's only movepool.

>>26110688
I've actually been wanting to run an Archeops but even with a Choice Band, after Defeatist kicks in, it becomes useless. Way to ruin a decent mon GF.
>>
Are there actually Pokémon with abilities that hinders them, other than Regigigas, Slaking, the Archeops line and those with Klutz?
>>
>>26117286
I think that's actually the only option in singles unless your opponent is supremely retarded, and even then that requires them to stay in with Mummy on them.
>>
>>26120126
You can run Pursuit on Slaking, but it's a stupid amount of work just to use Slaking.

Nothing but grass moves. I'm using one in a Nuzlocke and even her hidden power is grass.
>>
>>26122776
I use one on ORAS and I know that feel. She still pretty cool tho.
>>
>>26122776

Dazzling Gleam?

well, I guess so, seeing as Vileplume gets it

Use Alakazam and Regigigas
T1: Use Skill Swap. Regigigas gets Magic Guard, Zam gets Slow Start
T2 Mega Evolve Alakazam, Trace something useful from the opponent, gets rid of Slow Start.

There you go, pair of powerful attackers to wreck your opponent's shit.
>>
>>26123008
>Alakazam dies at the end of T1 because its shitty defenses
>>
>>26123008
what about the Spooky Shuffle

Give Regigigas King's Shield.
>>
>>26122839
Fiery dance would be an interesting niche move, if they. Give it to Bellossom as well and you have some really unique grass types. That and maybe earth power. I'm a little shocked more Grass Types dont learn Earth Power.
>>
>>26110570
>movepool
Black Kyurem
>typing
literally every psychic type
>ability
most ice types with a weather dependant ability
>>
>>26122479
But Cofagrigus most likely will stay to burn you. Unless your run lum but that just adds to the amount of work.
>>
>>26125331
No, it's your own Cofagrigus. The Pursuit is so you can hit whatever you mummified before they switch out.
>>
>>26115608
>not using meme rocks
What? You don't want your free sturdy/sash buster?
>>
>>26122776
I'm using one in a black 2 run right now:
>Quiver dance
>Sleep powder
>Giga drain
>Magical leaf

Evolved at lv 26 and have 1hitKO'd every gym leader so far despite being underleveled.
>>
>>26124999
Wide Guard doesn't block single target moves.
>>
>>26128335
Well, duh.
But some of the most common moves in doubles are not single target.

The point is that it gives Alakazam an extra layer of defense. Who's not to say you lead with Sableye to use fake out or WoW to cripple physical attackers, giving you the slot to skill swap in the Sableye slot next turn as you are guaranteed a safe switch in to Regigigas, who is now revved up and ready to go. In either case, Alakazam has already had its counters crippled or they have just switched in, so it can safely switch out or sweep 90% of the time. In the case that it's threatened with pursuit, you are going first anyway. Focus blast nails both bisharp and tyranitar. If threatened with Sucker punch, run a substitute set

These set would would work 99% of the time:
Sableye w/ wow and fake out
Alakazam w/ protect/substitute and skill swap
>>
>>26113882
It still makes for a really solid special wall for the lower tiers. I'd say the main issue is that it doesn't bring anything that special to the table: you can drop reflect and tailwind but then what? It doesn't have that strong utility presence that a lot of other support pokes do, no paralysis/burn means it wont be crippling any sweepers anytime soon, it does have access to hypnosis but 60% accuracy is just asking for trouble. Psycho shift is nice but it's really tricky to use effectively and whilst it does get defog it's also weak to stealth rocks.

I wish it got glare or something to actually have some way to fuck with the pokes it swaps in on.

Probably going to have low attack even though hell be an offensive grass flying type by stage 3.

Makes me so mad
