If you can't understand that there's a difference in the designs expected between a random shitmon and a fucking starter then I don't know what to tell you. Every starter so far has been designed to look cute, with possibly the exception of Treecko and Snivy who are more in the "cool" department. The fire rock thing doesn't look cute or cool at all. It looks more rough and tough, something like Bagon or Geodude. That's not to say that it's ugly or that no one likes it, but it doesn't fit as a starter. It's appeal is very niche and I say that as someone who actually likes the thing.
Also, if Stunfisk is really so popular in Japan then why isn't it on this list?
