ITT: We post misconceptions we had about Pokemon.
For the longest time I thought that:
Bugs resisted bug type moves
and that the Slugma line debuted in gen 3 instead of gen 2.
>>26099796
Man, I le thought that le Pikachu could le hit le ground types!
Man, aren't we so le wacky!?!?! :)))
>>26099796
I thought Cradily's eyes were its mouth.and for a brief, horrifying moment in FRLG, I thought sudowoodo was grass
rip charizard
I thought Grass resisted Rock, and that Bug was weak to Poison
>>26099796
I used to think that Pokémon was good.
>>26099826
You're overdoing it a bit there. You want to be a bit more subtle (e.g, only use "le" before nouns/noun phrases and as replacement for "the"). In any case, here's you (You).
>>26099841
And I thought le Solosis was le grass type! wtf green mons should all be grass #unclear
>>26099796
I though Rock and Ground resisted themselves.
>>26099853
im pretty sure bug type is weak to poison
>>26099865
Of course Rock doesn't resist itself, I used this small rock to crush a bigger rock.
>>26099841
I thought poliwag's mouth was its nose, and that the whole line had a weird spiral mouth.
>>26099841
Wait what are you talki-
Oh fuck.
>>26099876
Only in gen 1
>>26099906
you're right wtf
>>26099853
>>26099876
In gen 1....
>>26099968
Fug sorry some already posted
I used to think that Hoothoot/Noctowl were Psychic/Flying the first couple if times I saw them.
>>26099997
omg I know what you mean! I always thought charizard was a dargon!

Have some (you)s for effort.
i thought flygon was grass/dragon so i never used my swampert on it in hoenn e4
>>26100050
xd, I know! All green pokeman should be grass!
>>26099796
I thought that there would be a Pokemon Z...
>>26100061
god, shut up
>>26100088
Anon, just report and move on.
>>26099829
The anime used to be so bad with these kinds of things. I didn't know you had to give a Slowpoke a kings rock and ALSO trade it until my second pokemon game.
>>26100114
kek, I had a Shellder in my inventory for like forever waiting for slowbro
Getting your Pokemon healed at the the Pokemon center increases their exp.
I thought Lucario and Skarmory were Gen 3 mons and I though Lucario and Zoroark were legendary
I thought it was impossible to get out of Frozen up til Gen 3 because of how it worked in Gen 1.
Same with Toxic, it took me a couple gens to figure out a badly poisoned doesn't devolve to normal poisoned anymore when switching.
>>26099863
Sudowoodo looked like a tree, at least.
I've always thought that water was weak to ice until 5th gen came along.
>>26099841
To this day, Cradily still confuses me, even though I know the truth.
>>26099796
>>26100156
Hoennbabies
>>26100159
Iknowrite, how was I supposed to know that pseudo- sorry, sudowoodo wasn't a wood type?
>>26100168
And I thought fire was weak to grass.
>>26100176
>expecting someone who was probably ten years old to know what pseudo meant
i always forget corsola was gen 2. it feels like a gen 3 mon to me
>>26100170
I didn't really play anything after red. I got back into pokemon a few years ago with SoulSilver. Excuse my ignorance anon
>>26100190
>not knowing what pseudo meant
Oh wait, I forgot, I might be talking to an American.
I thought Drapion was a bug type
>>26100218
You're goddamn right you are.
>>26099796
when i first played gen 1 as a kid i thought the pc in pokemon centers were just for decoration and had no idea you could store your pokemon in them
>>26100231
Oh shit, sorry. Odd how so many Americans played, considering you usually had to be literate. How did you handle it?
>>26099796
I tried using Lick against a Hypno in Gen 1 and it didn't affect it. Since I didn't know about the bug and I never had Hypno in my team or paid much attention to it, I believed for years that Hypno was Psychic/Normal.
I thought Skarmory debuted in gen 3.
>>26100544
Dude.
I used to think Diglett/Dugtrio's nose is its mouth, and I still instinctively view it as a mouth, even though I know it's a nose. Even on 3D models where it protrudes from its face.
>>26099997
I still occasionally make this mistake even though I know otherwise.
I also thought Psyduck and Golduck were Water/Psychic for literally 16 years, because they were rare enough for me to not ever question it.
>>26099796
Does someone have the Pokémon version of OP's pic with Exploud instead of the big dude?
>>26100267
Le epic troll
>>26100267
Careful with that edge
I used to think there were fans of Ferrothorn for his great design but then I found out they only like him because he's a good hazard setter in OU.
