I should start by saying the circulating "starter" trademarks are in fact not related to Pokemon or Game Freak at all, as you could've guessed.
Grass Starter is a Saber Tooth. Stubby teeth, big head. The works. Not very exciting.
Fire Starter resembles millipede/centipede, but only has four nubs for arms and legs. Long, big eyes. Smug face. Not very bug like, though. More reptilian.
Water Starter is some amalgamation of aquatic reptile traits. I'd say it most closely resembles a marine Iguana. Lots of little bumps on its back. Most striking feature is the transparent sack on its belly, looks like a bubble.

Legendaries are both humanoid, both very robotic/metallic. I'd say the best way to describe them is synthetic. They're strikingly similar. The names are the trademarks we've seen posted to Serebii.
Solgaleo is very crude looking. Metal plates going this way and that. Kind of a beastly face; I'd say the face reminds me most of a Zoid character. Again, very inorganic. Glowing orange and red light segments all over, like the metal is keeping a sun trapped inside, and it's radiating through the seams.
Lunaala is similar, but much more refined. Clean cut, thinner, frailer. Still a humanoid body shape, but the head is much more avian. Robotic, inorganic, etc. Same as Solgaleo. But instead of orange and red lights seeping through the metal, its a light blue and purple.

I only saw a promotional art rendition of the Region's map. It's very different than what we've seen before. It looks like one landmass that's been torn apart by black space. There's a giant rift/void seperating the region. It must have to do with the lore of the game.
I drew this as soon as I got home yesterday, but any other details besides the general shape and the black space is left out.

Firstly, chibi overworld graphics are being dropped in favor of the things we've seen in the cutscenes of XYORAS. It's not totally the same, in fact it looks a lot better.
The new major game play mechanic that they'll be pushing is species variants. The majority of Pokemon will get between three to six different "Editions". Where it's caught or who its parents are will decide which of the three-six editions it is. They're trying to make the world feel more realistic, and from I saw, I'll bet on it working.

These games being apart of the 20th anniversary, I would assume at least near 150+. Masuda stated for BW that the reason there was a huge amount of new Pokemon was to make the games feel fresher and newer, and to make people going into them more surprised and excited.
XY had only around 70 for a fucking reason, they had to redesign every single past gen Pokemon into 3D. Three years of development and only 67? Fuck off
