And yes, making it a handheld game in the first place would've been a better choice considering the fanbase thing I talked about earlier and local multiplayer also being much easier to work around. I guess the current gen Nintendo handheld is still way too weak to handle Pokken. Hence NX might turn out to be the hero we need and deserve.

Pokken gets pretty bad where sometimes I don't get to move or the game jumps a full second and I can't react. I've had more problems with Pokken than Splatoon and the game has only been out for a month+. Online is just bad for fighters and even worse when they forced lag into the default game.

Well Pokken is a big clusterfuck of RPS, so the best way to get better is to learn what moves you have that beat RPS and use them often.

What the fuck am I supposed to do against laggy Gardevoirs? They can just push buttons all day and be fine, but I can't even get in. Can't CADC because it'll either start too late or won't cancel properly, and I can't even block because of the delay. breathe down the other guy's neck all the time, chomp has no pressure when he's far away. Early in the game I used to throw charged tornados after shifting back to field, it never works because it just gives your opponent breathing room. mixups are your best friend because the last thing you want to do as chomp is be predictable
running stance is 666, which can get a little hard to input perfectly sometimes. you can cancel his 6YY, 5A and 2A into running stance by holding Y/A or pressing R respectively and it'll reset right back into running stance. It won't make you keep running though, if you want to run for longer you need to hold the dpad as well (any direction works)

all of chomp's extra hits work off crits, so either use it if you read a grab oruse victini

Well, I know very little about Weavile, but I know that he excels at pressure and speed. If possible, try to do single hit jabs into grab setups. If you see an attack coming, use that move where he backsteps and slashes. I know I started getting a lot better when I started using my super defensively instead of offensively. People are scared of the super and will generally turtle up, so don't use it and go for grabs instead. When you know they are gonna get disrespectful and try to attack, then you pop the super and fuck them up. Weavile even has the advantage of draining Synergy, so characters like Gengar and Mewtwo get fucked over extra hard when they get comboed.

Umbreon as a "please get off me" tool, as well to cuck people out of burst if they have a full meter or close to it along with knock out, and sometimes when I have the other guy up against a wall to either get the free hit with umbreon if they don't block, or then get a free grab if they do block.
I don't know any other grab setups then that though.

Misleading title. Japs knew the winning Pokemon would be getting a distribution so the majority obviously voted for legendaries, even if they weren't their favorite. Greninja can be explained by the Ash-Greninja form, kids who voted for him probably naively belived they would be getting an Ash-Greninja distro for ORAS if he won.

Well, I watched some pro players, but the most important thing for me, rather than watching or reading anything, was trying every character.
I have no intent to git gud with every character, but I had a friend of mine play some 2 player with me where we played random.
I must say, it did wonders to know a whole lot more about every other character and how they work, especially having used them.
I would recommend it, if possible.
