I've used Focus Sash Timid Raichu on Battle Institute on AS, and I can't tell you it is really useful after a Nasty Plot, but I haven't used it against real people. I think it is its only flaw besides being very frail.

Not my absolute favorite Pokemon but one of them. Movepool, really.
Before the physical/special split it barely had anything to work with (Return and Rock Slide, I think?) and while it has more options now, GF still made sure that it would have nothing to use with Sheer Force.
Poor Kingler can't even learn Waterfall, which would work pretty well with Sheer Force. Rock Slide is basically the only useful move that works with SF.
Oh, and the 50 SpD isn't that great either, 75 Speed isn't fast enough and with 55 HP it can barely make use of its 115 defense.
It's a shame, because I like Kingler.

I think Butterfree is a really cool pokemon. The status effects it can dish out with Compound Eyes is neat. I felt it very a very big deal that it could learn psychic type moves way back when I played gen 1 since everyone knew psychic was like the strongest type. On top of that it's very cute.
But Bug/Flying might be one of the worst type combinations in the games. And it certainly doesn't get much value out of the typing with any good Flying moves to make use of its underwhelming stats.

but yeah, I love Vivillon, hunting for the 18 patterns is what made me enjoy XY (also bc i was so confused when my scatterbug didn't evolve into any of the vivis shown online)
