Hi /vp/, I'm a concept worker for Game Freak and have been asked to assist on the newest pair of games. I'm only a recent recruit to the team, been here a few months, but Sun and Moon is my biggest feat in the company, aside from doing a few small things for spin off games.
I'm part of a group that draws up animation concepts for the Pokemon as they are revealed. We haven't been shown everything, mainly just stuff we need to work on. My current work is Ashimari and its evolutionary relatives. Ashimari remains Water type as it evolves. Also, Grass Owl and Volcano Canid is real, but they aren't my current work.
I don't believe this bullshit for a second to be honest family.

The Owl evolves into Grass/Dark, yes. I've been TOLD that, I haven't actually worked on the mon. It's second evolution gets a sort of cane, and it's final evolution looks like some forest sage with cape-like wings and a big beard, with what looks like berries in it.

The Fire Canine is a an oddball, very different from previous Fire types but desu I think Masuda and Sugimori like that about it. It's a dog thing MADE out of rocky material, and it encases heat inside it's body. I haven't actually seen it's evolutions. It will be Fire/Rock though, if the banter of the office is correct.

The games are done senpai, we are working on concepts for the anime. Episodes haven't been finalised and episodes are even still being written. We assist Sugimori in studying how the Pokemon move.

The part that makes it bad bait is that he apparently works in tandem with Masuda and Sugimori but didn't name any other random employees. If you're going to pull "I work for Gamefreak" you should probably research some other names to name drop. Pokemon's dev team is not a small enough team that you'd work with Masuda but not know the names of the people who designed the other two starters to name drop them. Even Sugimori I have a hard time believing interacting very much and with one of the many randoms even if they are designers/artists.

Regardless, the art in OP's pic is the best I've seen of the blue balloon thing in awhile, besides the fin being in the wrong place. If this is what Ashmari looks like I will totally pick it, it's adorable.

OP here, sorry guys, haven't been able to visit as much. I have now seen the Owl evolutions and will sketch them for you. I'll also sketch The water starter's evolutions. I tried taking another photo but They do have supervisors. I do somewhat take my job seriously, but the thing is, I'm sorta pissed that we haven't shown off anything yet. I don't even know what the hold up is. We have lots of content.
