Back in gen 5 Hydreigon was the premiere special sweeper.
Amazing coverage, psudo-legend stats.
Gen 6 put a damper on them, but due to having access to an attack of every type except grass, expect a Hydreigon to be creeping around the sweeper slot.
No Sludge Bomb, though, which is a big pain.

Yeah. It's a strange pokemon.. as of this gen, it exist in this sort of awkward place with very high stats all around, but all of them missing the mark of being exceptional.

>Defenses are great, but without investment, 4MSS limiting your slots for Roost, and good-but-not-great defensive typing hurts it's abiliy to take advantage of
>Great 125 SpAtk back by strong moves, but the tease of a speed stat making it unwise to run Modest and no boosting moves leaves a lot to be desired.

It's one of those things where they have to be careful, because any buff could easily break it. By giving it even one area where you can truly call it exceptional, being coupled with it's all around good stats elsewhere would make it kind of insane.

Nah son, if you run Hydreigon you gotta rock LO Modest (or Mild if you want to use Superpower). Hydra eats fat teams for breakfast, lunch and dinner because until they know for sure what your 4th move is they have no safe switch-ins. So you can just happily fire off nukes until you die and then send in a sweeper to clean up the aftermath.
Although bear in mind offensive teams will give you trouble but even then you can force switches and murder shit with Draco Meteor.
