How is basing a monster off a trashbag unimaginative? That's highly imaginative. Is basing a Pokemon off of a literal cat or a literal dog or a literal rabbit somehow more creative?
You think a trashbag Pokemon is dumb because it challenges your notion of what can be considered a monster. Coming from a culture where umbrellas can be vessels of vengeful spirits, a monstrous trashbag is not that ridiculous.
Pokemon like trubbish, vanilluxe, magnemite, clinklang and so on, so forth.
But unlike most people just saying it looks dumb, hear me out.
All the above pokemon are quite undeniably based off of real life things; ice cream, garbage bags, or U-shaped magnets.
Wouldn't this imply that the pokemon would have had to have come into existence after humanity invented these things?
had they been ghost or psychic types, I might not be bothered by their design because that gives them a pass (amorphous ghosts or otherworldly creatures, who'd make sense to be able to alter their formes to adapt to humanity)
None of this is ever explained. Were they created by humans? Did they only appear once the target of their design was invented?
I don't think they're "overdesigned" or "unimaginative" or any of that pretentious tripe, but there's something beyond pure biology there that needs explaining, explaining that never happened as far as I know.

Like 50% of the megas. Grant you I don't think on their own they're that bad but when you then compare them to the base form they're almost all stupid as shit. I think there's like four mega in the game you could get away with going "yeah that pokemon could stand on its own and be a real evo".
I know that the blades only come out on attack but look at mega sharpedo and tell me that it has a right to exist in a world with a benevolent god.

Yes, actually. Basing the first stage of a Trash Pokemon off of a trash back just makes logical sense to me. Similarly, having its evolved state be a trash bag that burst open with its contents overflowing also makes sense. My only criticism of Garbodor is that I think they could have added more bits and pieces of trash in there, maybe a tin can or something.Though if I had my way, Garbodor would have been Poison/Steel and had a trash can or a dumpster worked into his design somehow.
