Okay, clarification, it's bad if you've beaten the main game and you don't have any of your main team still on the cart and you're trying to EV train while broke.
Gen V was amazing coming off the shitshow that was Gen IV. Whichever wizard they hired to refine that old ass D/P game engine for BW must've been a programming god. Not only was every aspect of the game not sluggish as shit, but they genuinely looked graphically newer/better despite still being DS games.
The updated gameplay stuff was also godly. No longer must you enter some trading room in a pokemon center to trade/battle locally with a friend. With IR/Wireless you could do it wherever you pleased. Combining the Centers/Marts was a great idea. As was making TMs unlimited and greatly reducing the necessity of HMs.
Each town is memorable and has their own "set piece" to remember them by, not to mention each town had its own music. No recycling here. The music and overall sound design was very inspired and still the best in the series.

Is it worth starting W2? I still have one unwrapped.
Gen V's designs didn't do it for me, and I only played White this February to transfer over my awesome mons from RSE/DPPtHGSS to XYORAS even though I bought White on launch. Even after finishing, I feel very little reason to return to it.
Is W2 great even if you feel nothing for the Unova region and its Pokémon?

I loved the focus on the music and the overall theme of music.
Honestly there isn't much one could improve past a handful of quality of life things that gen 6 added like easier box management, visible EVs, maybe the ability to fly directly to specific routes. Oh, and that whole having to sync to the Global Link to change your C-Gear theme, among other things that we're now fucked over on with the wi-fi server shut down.

It's literally just Pokémon Gray. Unless you really want to see a follow-up on B/W then you probably may want to skip it. You'll be missing out on new areas, godly music, and oldmons getting mixed in all routes though.

Yeah, if you didnt like B/W you probably won't like B/W2.
The style remains the same, but the region is broken up and feels pretty different, you fight different gym battles and encounter different mons along the way, and the plot arches off of what B/W built up.
