Well after about 1200 eggs I finally got my shiny Scyther. I went on to hatch the last few eggs in my party and the very last one was a shiny as well.

I would say pokerader is the way to go if you want results fast, every other method is very unpredictable, had a dexnav take 800+ searches for numel, chain fished a shiny poliwag on 2 encounter.
Horde encounters give out shinies like candy. After every 200 or so eggs with no shiny, I do hordes for a bit to increase motivation. Pic related.
500 eggs with Loveball Cleffa, 400 with Winter Deerling and 500 for Safari Cubone. Last egg shiny was around 800 for Fennekin.

When I started breeding for the first time, I started in X and it was XL Pumpkaboos.
Without any sort of shiny help (no charms or foreign partner) just trying it out to get some cool stated pokemon for once. I got a shiny pumpkaboo. Needless to say, it's one of my favorites and I don't even plan on evolving it.

Get a Volcorona or a Slugma, something with Flame Body.
Fill up four more slots with eggs, pick up an egg each time the Day Care Lad has one, and deposit it.
By the time you've hatched your eggs, there should be more than enough to refill.
Repeat until you've got a few boxes full, then fill the last slot and just start hatching them.

Nah i collected 450 more eggs and if im not mistaking with the first batch it should be the 447th egg well I still got roughly 300 eggs to crack so who knows. I really hate hatching bad shinies I'd rather have a longer hunt because it leaves such a bad taste in my mouth.

It all depends on luck. Which is something I hate because even though most of the time I'm fortunate to get shinies relatively quick their IVs suck.
