So when does this get good? 80 episodes in and it's just so fucking BLAND.
The last series I watched in its entirety was DP, years ago. I watched the first 30 or so episodes of BW, but stopped due to personal stuff. I heard it became shit, so I jumped straight into XY, since everyone said it was superb compared to everything else. But holy shit, everything feels so fucking lifeless and uninteresting.
The animation and battles are great, that's for sure, and the Mega Evolutions specials were some of the best episodes I've seen in the whole show, but I simply can't get into the main series. Even the BW saga who everyone hates didn't leave so bored when watching, probably because it tried some new things in the beginning.
I'm trying to keep going to at least see if it improves in XY&Z, but so far I'm not impressed and it's just frustrating. It's like I'm failing to see something that makes it so good to other people.

It's not worth watching at all. Ash is such a Mary Sue this time around in the anime. It's like the writers acknowledged the criticisms about Best Wishes, but went way too overboard and instead of making Ash look like an incompetent jackass, gave him a bunch of overpowered Pokémon and make him hardly lose any battles while everyone just sucks his dick. His "rivals" are a complete joke, and Serena has been one of the worst companions for him. If Misty was still around, she would at least give Ash a backbone and not just blindly worship the ground he walks on. Bonnie is one of the most worthless characters in the show and only serves as filler material. You could take her out of the show and absolutely nothing would change.
tl;dr: Ash is too perfect in the XY saga and has no noticeable flaws. The travelling companions suck ass as well.

XY is the worst saga of the anime by far. Ash is now a soulless Gary Stu with all of the personality sucked out of him. He can do absolutely NO wrong and everyone just loves to suck his dick. Serena, in particular, was only created to be mindless waifubait and make suckers fall for the amourshipping meme, praising Ash at any opportunity she could because he's just so amazing and perfect, right? Bonnie is a worthless character who only exists to star in pointless filler episodes. His "rivals" are absolute jokes and, once again, just love to suck up to Ash.
