Nah, I got 103k with Shufflemove and ended up in like 20th place on M. Sceptile and only dropped to like 70 at the end. Tried Blaziken just matching properly with M. The lore is that this happens to a Greninja with a strong enough bond with their trainer. In the anime, it had happened once before Ash and his Greninja did. We also learned that this transformation gives off the same energy as Mega Evolution, so there's been a lot of debate as to whether Ash Greninja is actually Mega Greninja.
My personal belief is that Ash Greninja is some sort of half-Mega due to not holding a Greninjite and the transformation looking like Ash is because the're linking their Mega energy directly to each other rather than through the normal conduits of a Mega Stone and Key Stone.
And I personally doubt it's a stoneless Mega just because of the fact that, as many of us here know, Rayquaza still needs an active meteorite to Mega Evolve. It's just that in the main games, it eats it allowing it to hold other items.

I was looking at the Po4+ pokemon and noticed we don't have more than one per type. Since it is such a good ability, maybe they do want to limit it to one per type. Why would you ever play a stage when you don't have the coins for a great ball? Plus why would you even buy the great ball? Even on 3DS it takes 5 hearts to recover the coins, likely more on mobile, just play the stage again and since you had such a high catch rate you'll probably get it within 5 hearts, no coins required. Unless you used items to get that high of a catch rate, in which case you're a dumbass for spending coins and not having enough left over for a great ball, since you're just going to go back to meowth afterwards you might as well have done it first, and also for spending coins on timed stages when all you need to do to win is just git gud since it's skill based and not luck based like turn based stages.

Some Pokemon aren't available because they are Event only, so no not all Pokemon will be available from the get-go.
But Events get reruns often. I think this is the third time we've gotten Groudon on mobile actually. Once you get to a competent level of the game, you're going to want to get the events as they come out, but the main game is doable for the most part without them. What you really want to focus on from the start is getting some of the Expert Stage Pokemon. Lucario, the Legendary Birds, Charizard, and Dragonite for example, are some of the really useful EX Pokemon you have access to early on.

After two failed runs with M-Gengar, I tried with M-Latios, Latias and Dragonite.
Dancing Dragons activated almost every turn, Latios kept matching at least twice a turn (and unlike Gengar it can do something when the bottom of the board ends as a hard to combo with mass) and won before DD wore off.
