Probably Orange, in her Normal style she's Happiny with Klutz (shit) Natural Cure (decent, but unfitting for in-game), and her only attacks are a Spread version of Slash and Charge Beam.
Those two would be a decent combination if she at least had Serene Grace in her normal style, since she'd get even more crits and guaranteed SpA boosts, but no.
It has to be either Orange or Renko.

Is there any English community for this stuff, besides /jp/? I caught the touhou fever back in '08 and recently started playing again, and loved the touhoumon romhacks. Only reason I ignored this thread was because it's hard to find enough time to spend on a non-portable game.

That seems to have been the problem. Guide I read told me to use the 3.0 updater. Though now the problem is that it's butchering everything, making TA not able to translate it at all. Is there an option in the option menu that works best to fix it? I see it has some delay option, but I'm not sure which is best to use or if I should just change most/all of them.

Maribel's usable in-game in the expansion since her Extra Stance has no gimmicks attached. Akyuu's circumstancially useful with her Assist stance the same way Shedinja can be.
Renko doesn't have those fallbacks even in the expansion since her Extra stance is puppet!Shuckle.

This image has always bothered me. Marowak can ohko 0 bulk P-Groudon, but that's not impressive at all.
There are plenty of things that can ko P-Groudon in a 1 on 1 fight if the Groudon happens to be running the worst possible set for the situation.

The point is more that she can become unbelievably durable against physical attacks (surviving a fully invested in ATK PGroudon Precipice Blades when you're WEAK to it is no easy feat) while still hitting back incredibly hard.

The expansion has Doremy Defense, who is absurd in regards to walling physical attackers.
Nature/Nether typing + Dark Clothing for an ability gives her 5 resistances and 2 immunities. She has base 140 HP and base 125 Defense, gets reliable recovery + Drain Seed, gets White Lily Dance to heal another puppet if she's about to go down, gets Changeling if you want to safely switch something else in, and some other miscellaneous utility moves like Shark Trade (aka Trick) and Field Break (the Warp type equivalent to Brick Break).
A good comparison would be Giratina-A, known to be one of the most tough to kill things in Pokemon's Uber tier. However, Giratina-A has 2 more weaknesses and only 1 more resistance, does NOT get reliable recovery and has to use Rest (that's a huge issue for something that's supposed to wall), and does not get Light Screen/Reflect (whereas DoremyD gets the puppet equivalents of those).
Giratina-A does have over DoremyD a much better speed stat, a higher HP stat (base 150) and much higher special defense stat (base 120 vs DoremyD's base 85), access to Will'o'Wisp for residual damage + an attack drop (DoremyD only gets Sweet Nightmare, which only gives the attack drop and no residual damage; Drain Seed does compensate for that a lot though), and the ability to force an enemy out while still doing damage with Dragon Tail. It also has higher/usable offenses than DoremyD to boot (twin base 100 offenses vs base 60 ATK and base 70 SpATK), and has hazard removal in the form of Defog while also being able to block Rapid Spin (both things DoremyD is incapable of doing), and isn't slow beyond words (base 90 vs base 35 speed). And while crippled by Taunt, it isn't left completely helpless in contrast to how DoremyD is incredibly passive in regards to her damage output.
So no, she's not better than Giratina-A. But she's still comparable in regards to stopping physical attackers. Unless they can set up or use Upbeat, in which case welp.

It's similar in regards to physical defense and the ability to stop most physical attackers cold though, although I did realize while looking it over how much less she has over Giratina once you look past the 140/120 physical bulk with reliable recovery thing. So I started off thinking the two were really close and then as I examined things more carefully noticed just how much stuff Giratina had over DoremyD.
I guess a better description would be a combination of Giratina's physical defenses and resistance suite and Blissey's hyper-passive nature.

1. waifus. granted, pokemon also have waifus but its nice where almost all the puppets are waifu meterial and that most can be safely be attracted to without being a deviant.
2. revamped game. after years of playing pokemon, its nice to see the same formula so you still feel like playing pokemon, but it's different enough to also feel like a new game- much more refreshing than simply a new gen for example.
3. some core mechanics got changed for fun- hms are items, not moves, evs goes wherever you wish them to go regardless of what mons you are fighting, relearning old moves no longer cost rare items, you can earn money from wild encounters

5. In pokemon, you get either strong or cute, here you have both. Every mon can shine.
Started the game up and picked Youmu, hope I get a Wriggle soon to have all the faves. Can the stats be done wrong in any way, like is there a way to undo points usage for skills or ability changes? Really want to take what I catch and go on with it.

That's pretty easy to explain. Wind/Earth offensively is absurd to begin with: the Pokemon equivalent of Flying/Ground is one of the best attack type combinations in that series, to the point where Mega-Rayquaza frequently forgoes the usage of it's Dragon type STAB and runs just Dragon Ascent and Earthquake, while Mega-Salamence does the same but with Return and Earthquake. The only issue with that type combination in Pokemon is that Flying is immune to Ground, so there are a very few things that are neutral to neither of them (Skarmory being the biggest one).
SanaeS does not care one bit about immunity at all; her Wind type moves will hit Warp types and her Earth type moves will hit Wind types. That makes stopping an already incredible STAB combination basically impossible (although do note that abilities will still work, so a Wind-resistant puppet with Air Cushion can stop her in her tracks, as well as AkyuuA), further bolstered by her having access to a strong set-up move, being able to hit ALL the Sagumes for SE thanks to her ability with just her STABS and thus having the usual counter to set-up shenanigans stopped cold, and having fine, if not standing out, defenses (100/80/70).
Oh, and she can't be spinblocked either by Warp types so she can remove hazards with Smash Spin literally with impunity.

Lyrica can run a pretty funny Moon's Protection + First Aid Treatmeant + Infinite Scales set and has Warning Shot to patch up her Focus Defense.
She's pretty passive if not running Moon's Protection or Decrescendo though. Raiko is far more immediately threatening, which probably suits Japanese "Battlespot" tastes better.

You get them very frequently from beating up random encounters and trainers, so they aren't difficult to get even if you sold them all thinking they were useless outside of sell fodder earlier. 255 by the end of the game is not unheard of, and I think I had like 165 or so by the end.
Considering how by far what I spent the most time doing in Pokemon was breeding (followed by EV-training and grinding levels up, and then in a distant third actually battling normally), there is a very big reason why I don't play actual Pokemon anymore.

Step 1: Beat up whatever, you get 3 PP per puppet beaten up (so 18 if you beat up a trainer with 6 puppets)
Step 2: Pour those PP into whatever stat you want. Each point of PP equals 1 EV; 1 EV = 1 point at level 100, cap of 64 EVs in a stat and 130 EVs overall.
PP is also used to learn level-up moves, but the amount of PP needed for that isn't much; none are more than 34 to learn (i.e. 2 trainers of 6 puppets worth), and in exchange you can learn and relearn them whenever as long as you have enough PP (no hunting heart scales to relearn moves here!)
Technically if you know what you're doing and have the power items + Pokerus available you can EV train much faster in Pokemon than even TPDP, but only in a ridiculous brute-force way. And even then it's probably close, there's a held item in postgame that doubles all exp and pp gains for whatever puppet is holding it.
As for level grinding, it's not as fast as Secret Base Blissey farming in ORAS, but you do get massive globs of exp from M3 (Makai 3; i.e. endgame E4 equivalent) rematches thanks to the terrifyingly high levels they're wielding. Post-expansion they're not a good candidate for grinding if only because you can't gapmap out to beat poor Yuki up again immediately and because they got a ridiculous boost in how dangerous they are, but there's a better spot to grind postgame anyways.
Actually, considering how the level up animation is treated in TPDP, it's probably faster than Blissey farming because you aren't getting buried underneath all the level up notifications and the "____ is trying to learn ______" messages.

I used her in my first playthrough, she's strong and fast but pretty frail.
Nether/Steel typing is great for STABs, and she gets Earth coverage on top of that.
She can go either mixed or full Focus (physical) or full Spread (special) attacker.
If you're against something with low attack power (remember, she's frail) or you give her a Black Choker (Focus sash) you can boost with either Brave Song (Nasty Plot), Strenuous Stance (Swords Dance) or Latent Power (she gets fucking Belly Drum, with 110 base Speed).
The one drawback is that her physical Nether STABs suck, but she does get Unfettered Soul (basically Acrobatics) and with a Sugilite (like the gems from Pokemon) it's more than good enough, since every single battle item in this game is reusable.

So Alakazam, being slower, has to risk focus blast, so he has a 70% winning chance.
And this is giving Sumireko advantages, such as Alakazam not knowing who's his opponent beforehand, otherwise, one would know he'd surivive the first hit and give him a modest nature instead and choice specs for a surefire OHKO with Psychic.
The only way she'd have a chance would be knowing about it beforehand and using either straw doll or good earings with a 140 bp stab which I still don't know if it even exists, for a OHKO, however, giving such to her would mean we could give choice scarf to Alakazam and keep the same win ratio.
This is all ignoring the existance of MegaKazam, which would force Sumireko to use an item to even outspeed him and return everything to the 70% chance of winning with focus blast under ideal conditions.
At best Sumireko has 30% win ratio, at worse, she loses 100% of time.
In other words, Sumireko is fucking pathetic.Jokes aside, I think Youmu would win vs him. She wins for sure if you assume nether = ghost, but if not, then I'd have to make the calculations later.

I feel kinda tired to do the calculations, if you really want them, ask me and I'll get them here later, but here's what I feel it'll be like:
Extra hits harder but is slower, and with only 5 more in her SpD, we're about in the same situation. Though for some reason she lacks a higher BST move AND has no stabs because dream typing. So Alakazam has two turns to beat her most likely, unless you're counting dark typed puppet moves as dark typed pokemon ones, in which case, likely a little less than 70%(if focus blast isn't a sure KO if it hits) yet again. If we give them items, she can't win, period.
Power gets things interesting, she's a Focus attacker with full metal crash but stupidly slow. Alakazam has this as his sole disadvantageous matchup because she has just enough bulk to make focus blast not very likely to kill her. However, if you give them both acess to items at all, she's back to losing every single time because we can give Kazam a focus sash.
Also, in no case can she benefit from stealth rocks or stealth trap because magic guard.
Fun fact, Extra Sumireko is dream typed, with one possible ability being the one that warns if the opponent has a SE move. Against a type with no weakness. Do I need to say more? Can we discuss actual good things?Her alternative ability makes SE attacks do 40% more damage.
