Yesterday was the Swanna line, an average Pokemon by /vp/'s standards, and today we finally reach...the Vanilluxe line.
My thoughts: Well here we are, the 2nd member of the infamous Gen 5 duo, Vanilluxe and its evos Vanilite and Vanillish. I'm just gonna let you all talk about this one. I have no input.
I like it, Vanilluxe is my bro.

I caught a shiny one, and i honestly kindapreferthe normal coloration. I dont get all the hate, but thats just people who cant think outside the box spreading bs. Whatev. Would train/10
I've always been okay with the Vanil line and I like them a fair amount now. Vanilluxe even has pretty good stats.
It needs Snow Warning as its hidden ability though, not Weak Armor. The dex talks about it expelling violent blizzards.

But Weezing is a good design too, and it's actually useable. If it was an ice cream Weezing it wouldn't be happy about growing a conjoined twin.
I used one on my B2 playthrough and it was extremely fragile. It's Special Attack was strong enough for it to warrant a spot on my team but jesus, not even the defense moves it has could save it.
I used it all the way till the champion and now it's in ORAS with the rest of my party. I hope it gets a little bit more useful later on.

I think Vanillite is adorable, but really dislike the evolutions. I just dislike how it just gets bigger/more heads, which is the biggest reason gen 1 remains my least favorite.

I like Vanillish. Its body could pass as both an icicle and ice cream cone, and doesn't over sell the concept with a straw. A Vanillish with Vanillite's face would've been a great one-stage mon if it had a gimmick of some sort. Maybe a Brain Freeze ability that freezes the opponent if it uses a drain attack (including Leech Seed) or biting attack.

The only thing I would change about this line is that Vanilluxe should have been a double-scoop that looked like a snowman (still with a face on each segment), with the "straw" in place of the carrot nose.

I really like this line. I do not understand the shitstorm over it. I think naysayers just don't like the fact it's supposed to look like ice cream. Vanilluxe isn't perfect, but it's still pretty good design wise.
The line is cute and clever. Plus the fact it has two heads is sort of an homage to gen 1, while still fitting in with the concept behind it.

Magneton is literally the consequence of magnetism and fits its theme, Exeggcute is both a joke about seeds and eggplants and palms plus some myth but at least it does also make good use of its type, Psychic part allows them to communicate with each other and synchronize them, Binacle is like a coral or some shit, can't really defend Barbaracle, it's obnoxious and Dugtrio is most likely a colony, probably the most farfecthed one of all listed, not sure what was its purpose.

Most of this is just kind of lackluster, not offensively bad.
Should have been a single evo line, or had some other interesting part of the design other than ice cream cone.
Personally, I don't like it. I find the design to be a bit unimpressive, especially when compared to other Gen 5 like Hydreigon

I have two problems with it:
1. It's just an ice cream cone, which makes its concept terrible. It has no special talents or any reason to justify it being an ice cream cone.
2. It's stupid looking. Like Chespin levels of stupid. Look at that retarded smile. Or those dumb beady eyes. It's one of those designs that just tries too hard to be cute. Most designs that have this problem usually grow out of it when they evolve, like Pidove or Fletchling, but not Vanillite, it remains stupid looking throughout the entire line.
