What if we found a way to blend the two, where you can forage around in secret bases and have different mini games to find different things based on the type of secret base it is. Finding berries and roots and other naturally occurring items in bush and tree based secret bases, minerals and some fossils underground, ocean fossils and things like big pearls in beachside ones, etc etc.
That way when you get a whole lot of new secret bases from other people, unlock more of the minigames. They'd reset daily, so you can keep other bases you like and still have the chance to do the minigames.

A Pokémon World Tournament bigger than the one from BW2. One with longer streak requirements, more tournament themes, all Gym Leaders, all Elite Four members, all Champions, all Battle Frontier Brains (both Hoenn and Sinnoh), and Special Trainers such as Red, N, Zinnia and other fan favourites. Maybe even previous rivals/player characters too. The after-battle talk with certain characters could add some neat backstory to what happened to those characters after their game's ending. I'd love to know some more about N and Zinnia's experiences post BW2/ORAS.

Hidden Grottos from BW2 is a must! It was such a nice feature and has great potential for future usage. It could be upgraded with multiple types of Grottos, with ones in caves, lakefronts or underwater (Dive) giving access to a whole new array of HA Pokémon and rare items. Maybe even Eggs with rare egg moves too? I would love this feature to return someday.

On that note, let me post my secret base wishlist:

Instead of giving them Legendaries and ruining in-game lore, they should give them OU tier Pokémon with max IVs and EVs, good movesets, abilities and items and a high AI. Without making them too OP, of course, but still be pretty darn hard to beat. I just feel like handing out Legendaries to NPCs would completely shatter their Legendary status.
