Pokebeach had gotten some leaked information in Febuary and released it in May. No Es Fake/Fairygate was before that, and of course the "fuck up" that ended up with multiple sources having the games two weeks before release. Those are the only rumors I remember from that time.

I was a mod on TRsRockin when DP first started leaking, and I remember it took forever to come out. Leaks were few and far between at the beginning, and EVERYONE was psyched for Lucario. Forget how you feel about him right now, Lucario was crazy hyped, mostly because everyone thought it was a legendary.
Gen VI blazed by compared to gen IV and V. I started getting involved in online communities between RS and FRLG, and the wait times felt so much longer.

Yeah that was my problem with ORAS's marketing, every aspect of the game was released before the game. All the megas, the mirage spots, Gen 2, 4, and 5 legendaries, the delta episode, everything spoiled before release by the pokemon company themselves.
