The only difference between the two is Pokemon is more of a story driven series, and Yokai watch is more character driven.
Pokemon deals with a goal, getting 8 badges, rising to the top, and stopping bad guys and their nefarious plots along the way.
Yokai watch deals with a kid and his daily life and household chores with his friends and how their affected by Yokai.
Theres really no connections between the two, so calling it a pokemon killer is really misinformation.
