Could someone walk me through what I need to do to get shaders working? I dropped the zip into the shaderpacks folder, but nothing happens in game. There isn't a "shader options" button in my menu, either.
When I install optifine, it only works in my normal launcher, but not my pixelmon launcher. And when I try to put it in my pixelmon launcher, the game crashes.

So everytime I try to install it manually, it always hangs trying to properly run forge for the first time in pic related. Using the simpler installation works, until I try to join the server and all it does is hangs trying to load stuff. The game runs but I basically only get <1 fps during so. My pc isn't a total potato either, so I don't get what's going on here.

Let's be honest here - it looks nice, but it's just kinda...there. There's no reason to have a lighthouse there - no docks, no city, no cliffs, no nothing - and there's nothing around it. It doesn't even have the distinction of being the tallest building anymore - Sky Pillar took the only thing it really had going for it. There's no reason to keep it there, beyond the work I put into it. The only thing I wish now is that I knew exactly how many blocks were in it, so I could ask someone in creative mode to do it for me and give me the pieces. Maybe I could do the math - so many blocks to a level? I'd just prefer not to spend a week on this and move on to something else.
On a related note, is a flying town held up by balloons too far on the wacky side for this?

Well, Destiny Tower is about 100 blocks tall, going from 60 at the base to 160 at the top (it goes down to 55 if you count the basement, and the floor in the basement). I don't know exactly how tall Sky Pillar is, but I was told it was somewhere in the neighborhood of 170 blocks from base to top. So Destiny Tower has a higher peak, but Sky Pillar is taller overall.

After exploring for quite a bit I found a cave. In that cave I found an excellent room to build a small hut in. I showed it to another person who enjoys building in caves and he agreed it was an excellent cave to build in. If you like building in caves then come check out 997 / 63 / 340. Just head down the cave at the edge of the lake and take a look around. It's really rough at the moment 'cause neither of us are particularly good builders but if you're not that great either then we don't care and we'd be happy to have you!
Other features include some phenomenal building space on the surface, a natural floating island in the sky, a nearby Birch and Oak forest, and both Beach and Extreme Hills +M biomes.
